Window Gel Clings

Gel cling products come in several colors and shapes. Many people use them for decorating windows during the holidays to make their homes feel more festive. While they’re only minimally toxic when actually swallowed, they can be a choking hazard.

Window gel clings are usually made of plastics called thermoplastic polymers that are designed to stick and re-stick to smooth surfaces. With their bright colors and fun shapes, small children may be tempted to put them in their mouths. If a small child puts the whole window cling in their mouth it could make them gag or choke. If your child is choking, dial 911 right away for help!

If you find your child chewing on a window cling, take it away from them and give them a drink of water.
